Why should I do a Lasting Power of Attorney?

If in the future you lose capacity to make decisions you will already have appointed someone legally who can make decisions on your behalf. These decisions can be about property and finance or health and welfare. You can appoint different people for each one if you wish. If you lose capacity without a Power of Attorney in place the person chosen to make your decisions may not be the person you would have chosen.
